RatChi-Breed Information
A RatChi is a combination of a Rat Terrier and a Chihuahua. Because of this, the disposition
of a RatChi can vary from both extremes.
The RatChi is typically, however, a good family dog. A great watch dog but not yappy.
They are easy to care for, keenly intelligent, and are enjoyable as pets.
The RatChi is also a good ratter--better than any cat. They are comfortable in an apartment
or on a farm. They are quick to alert you of any change in their surroundings but easily
adapt to those changes.
They tend to get along well with other animials but intact males can be somewhat challenging
towards other male dogs (a good reason to neuter any male dog). RatChis are energetic
dogs, rough and ready for anything you plan and plenty playful with children, but once inside
can be just as content to take a nap on your lap or by your side.
However, the RatChi being a terrier mix, loves to rough-house and training in manners is
definitely recommended. RatChis love people, playing, other animals and life in general.
They are a fun-loving dog ready for anything.
History of the RatChi:
Well, there's not much history. It is one of the new "crosses" being developed in the interest
of providing a companion to fit in with today's homes and families. I call them RatChis, but
they are also known as the RatCha and the Chattie.
