When you take your puppy home, there are some simple steps to follow to introduce them to existing dogs in the house.

If possible, take your adult dogs for a good walk to use up excess energy.  They will be in a calmer mood when the puppy gets home.

Everyone's mood at home must be calm and not excitable.  Excitement can lead to rough play that could be harmful to the puppy.

If you have a crate, keep the puppy in the crate and allow your adult dogs to sniff him/her and check them out.  Or keep the puppy on your lap and let your adult dogs respectfully approach, and allow them all to sniff and introduce themselves.  This is a safe way to have an initial introduction.

Until you feel that everyone is accepted, do not leave the puppy alone with the adult dogs.  Always provide some protection for the puppy, such as a baby gate or crate when you can't be there to supervise.  And do not let the level of excitement rise to the point that rough play could become harmful.

Once everyone has settled in and you feel all issues of territory or dominance have been addressed, you can allow all of the dogs free access to each other.

If you are introducing the puppy to other animals, always require quiet, respectful behavior from the puppy.   Do not let the puppy run all over other animals.
