Cesar Millan.  I've only recently been able to enjoy the National Geographic Channel.  And I stumbled upon this show called "Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan".   I have been hooked ever since.  I even enjoy watching the repeats--over and over and over.  It is so amazing to watch him in action.  Time and again, solve problems, heal emotional wounds, restore order--for the dogs And the people.  In his effort to help dogs he has helped people as well over and over.  And saved lives.  My favorite show includes the story of a Boxer that was scheduled to be put down the next day.  The family fortunately saw an ad in the paper and called Mr. Millan.  This dog was aggressive with people outside the family and threatening (he had never shown aggression or threat towards the family (which included small children).  And on the advice of neighbors, friends, and even their vet, they scheduled his euthanasia, citing the inevitable conclusion--that this dog would eventually attack the family.  Mr. Millan was their last hope.  They were in the midst of preparing their young son for the loss of his pet when Mr. Millan showed up at their front door.  From the very beginning he had control of the situation.  Never did this dog show any aggression toward him.  He literally saved this dog's life and allowed this young boy to keep his pet and best friend.  I still get teary when I see that episode.

Mr. Millan is not a dog trainer.  He is a behavioralist.  He uses his understanding of dog psychology to understand and then solve the issues of so many of today's dogs.

I strongly recommend you visit his site.  It is full of information.  And if you have the chance, watch his show.  The books are great and worth the money, but it is nothing compared to seeing this man in action.

And just so you know, I don't make any money in this.  I just think he is so awesome that I want to spread the word.
